Goodman Named RSD Athletic Director
Russellville, Ark - The Russellville School District is pleased to announce Ben Goodman as the RSD Athletic Director effective July 1, 2023, following the retirement of Johnny Johnson.
With 23 years in education, 21 of which have been with the Russellville School District, Mr. Goodman has served in several capacities. Goodman joined the Cyclone Athletic Department as an assistant football coach in 2002 and was appointed Head Track Coach 8 years ago. In October of last year, Mr. Goodman was inducted into the Cyclone Athletic Hall of Fame for his contribution and service to Cyclone Athletics throughout the years.
Superintendent Dr. Ginni McDonald says, “The Russellville School District is honored to have Mr. Goodman lead the athletic department. Mr. Goodman’s Cyclone pride runs deep and I know he will do an outstanding job serving the student-athletes of RSD.”
Mr. Goodman is a 1995 graduate of Russellville High School and a graduate of Arkansas Tech University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In May, he will complete his Masters in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
“I’m very humbled to be given a leadership position in the district I’ve given so much of my life to and that has given so much to me. I look forward to keeping our programs moving in the right direction and providing all our student-athletes opportunities for success,” said Goodman.
Ben is married to Kristi Goodman and they have three children: Logan, who works for Koontz Electric in Oklahoma City; Mason, who attends ATU Ozark; and Kasey, who is a sophomore at Russellville High School.
