Russellville High School Symphonic Band named 6A State Honor Band

On Monday, April 10th the Russellville High School Symphonic Band traveled to Cabot to compete in the 6A State Concert Contest. The RHS Symphonic Band received a first division (Superior) rating from all three judges and was named the 6A State Honor Band due to receiving the top overall score.

Mr. David Gaston, the RHS Band Director, said "These young musicians literally didn't miss a beat and performed with outstanding accuracy and musicianship.  I couldn't be more proud to be their director."

Next year's Symphonic Band will have the honor of performing a feature concert as the 6A State Honor Band at next year's State Concert Contest.

Congratulations to these students! It's a great time to be a Cyclone!
