Educational Technology Students Pass Paraprofessional Exams

Seven students enrolled in RHS’s Educational Technology class passed their Praxis ParaPro Exams. The students are Silvina Garcia, Itzel Lopez-Hernandez, Autumn Sanchez, Maddie Daniel, Natalie Keech (seniors), and Kalee Page and Ashlee Watson (juniors).

These scores allow the students to be employed as Paraprofessionals in any school district in Arkansas as well as many other states. This certification will also help these future teachers to get a head start on their careers in education. Sil Garcia also passed the Google Educator Level 1 Certification Exam and the seniors in this group are also Career and Technical Education completers on the Educators track.

The three-hour exam consists of three sections: reading, writing, and mathematics. It measures the students’ comprehension of the fundamentals of learning and educational practices and ensures that the future teachers are able to assist in the classroom.

Mr. Young, the Education Technology teacher, said, “We are impressed with these students’ outstanding scores on the exam. It took a lot of work to be prepared for the test and deal with the stressful logistics. The students persevered, and their hard work really paid off.”

Congratulations to these students!
