Inclement Weather Information

The winter season is upon us! Through the season, the District will be actively watching forecasts for any weather that may impact travel and road conditions. The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority when making these decisions.

Parents will be notified of any school closures, early dismissals, or delays via text, phone, the Russellville School District website, and social media.  Please make sure your contact information is up to date with your child’s campus office.

Transportation

When there is inclement weather, RSD Transportation may use alternative snow routes as a safety precaution. Snow routes have specific pick-up/drop-off locations for areas that are unsafe for bus travel.

Find all the snow routes information the link below. If there are no snow routes for your area, buses will run as normal.

Important: Snow Routes may change frequently, please check for updates when inclement weather comes.

Make Up Days

Beginning this school year, Arkansas school districts can no longer use Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Days.

Any school closures, including inclement weather, will be made up through designated make up days. Find the designated make up days on the academic calendar found here: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/120/District/3297688/23-24_calendar.pdf

Former AMI Plan:

Thank you to all of the staff, parents, and students who contributed input for the AMI plan. While this plan cannot be utilized, the District appreciates your work and dedication to student learning.
