Russellville School District Hires New High School Principal to Begin the 2024-2025 School Year

The Russellville School District Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Nic Mounts as the new Russellville High School principal to begin the 2024-2025 school year. Dr. Mounts comes to Russellville after spending the majority of his career at Centerpoint High School. 

Dr. Mounts started his educational career as an English teacher and coach at Centerpoint High School. He taught a variety of courses including English 10, pre-AP English 7, English 8, Arkansas History, EAST, yearbook, and journalism. Dr. Mounts also served as the school’s Response to Intervention and 504 coordinator and as assistant coach/defensive coordinator for the Knights football teams. 

After 12 years in the classroom, Dr. Mounts became the principal at Centerpoint High School where he served for 7 years. During his final year, he also served as the curriculum director. In 2022, Dr. Mounts was hired as principal by Virtual Arkansas to open their new Off-Campus and Fully Online program.  

In 2003, Dr. Mounts graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Henderson State University. He earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2005 and obtained an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership in 2015 both from Henderson State University. In 2019, Dr. Mounts earned his Doctorate of Education from Harding University.

Dr. Mounts said, “I am thrilled to be the next principal of Russellville High School. I appreciate the opportunity to serve the students and staff at RHS! Go Cyclones!”
