Joshua Dollar

At Russellville Intermediate School, Joshua Dollar is a student who consistently goes above and beyond to care for those around him, both physically and emotionally. Joshua has shown exceptional leadership, kindness, and empathy, earning him the title of Empathetic Leader.

Joshua is not only a dedicated student but also an all-around athlete. He enjoys playing football and basketball, where he plays the post position. In addition to his athletic involvement, Joshua participates in the robotics program and plans to continue next year as a Russellville Middle School Gale.

“I think that an empathetic leader is someone who takes their own experiences—like times when they’ve felt down—and uses that understanding to help others through similar situations,” Joshua shared.

His empathy shines both on and off the field. When a classmate was injured during a football game, Joshua was the first to step in and help them get to the nurse, showing his support to others in times of need.

“To be a good friend or teammate,” Joshua said, “you have to listen to people, think about their feelings, not just your own, and include everyone.”

Joshua earned the Emplatic Leader Award as part of the Profile of the RSD Graduate Recognition Program, which celebrates the attributes in the promise of the RSD graduate.

Great job, Joshua! Thank you for being an excellent example for your fellow students!
