RCVA 3rd graders planted Lima Bean seeds to perform an experiment to compare the growth of a lima bean on a windowsill versus in a dark cabinet.
Barrett Wood was shocked with his results. He wrote " When I started this experiment, I thought the one in the window would grow and the one in the cabinet would not grow. Well maybe just not grow very much. I was very surprised to see that the one in the cabinet grew first. We put our beans in baggies so I could see the roots growing. The one from the cabinet has a lot more roots all through the bottom and is taller than the ones from the window. The one from the window is greener but smaller and only has roots in one spot of the bag. It is cool how strong the stems are from both of them, but the one from the cabinet is taller and fatter."

RCVA Teachers will be working from home Thursday, Feb 3. Please email teachers or use Go Guardian to message teachers if you have questions about your work.
RCVA teachers are available to help students through live chats and calls from 8:00am-4:00 pm. As long as the students are logged on their school laptop, the teachers can see what lesson they are on and can live chat or call to help them with a lesson. Students just click help and send us a message. We use Go Guardian for this wonderful chat feature.
Parents can also use GoGuardian to monitor your child's computer use and filter it as needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gjUdMty4yU&t=145s
