Congrats to our May Employee and Student of the Month!
Our Student of the Month for May is Sara Skaggs. She was nominated by Mrs. Brockinton and here is what she had to say about Sara: "Sara Skaggs is a model student. She is kind, encouraging, and hard-working. I can always count on her to be focused and engaged. She is always willing and ready to help others around her. Sara is one of the most complimentary and encouraging students in my classes. I feel like I hear her encouraging and complimenting her classmates every single day. She is also incredibly talented. She has a beautiful voice, skillfully plays multiple instruments, and is dedicated to practicing and improving. She is very deserving of Student of the Month."
Our Employee of the Month is Principal Matt Kordsmeier. He had 3 nominations and those were Coach Williams, Mrs. Boles, and an anonymous entry. Here is what they had to say about Mr. Kordsmeier: "Mr. Kordsmeier is an excellent boss and someone that I truly respect. He has been supportive throughout the years, and although the decisions that he has had to make have not been easy, I feel that he has always tried to do what is fair and what is best for RJHS. He has been here day after day, leading and guiding even in the toughest times. Personally, I can say that without his confidence in my work as a teacher, I would not be where I am today. If any of us are good at what we do, it only mirrors the actions of great leadership, such as Mr. Kordsmeir......Matt Kordsmeier as Employee of the Month. First of all, Matt is the most dedicated employee this school has seen. In the time he has been vice-principal and principal of this building, he has lived and breathed all things RJHS. He has dedicated his time and his heart to students, teachers, and all employees, both within official school time as well as outside of it. You will see him in the halls as well as the gym, the track, the football field, at school dances, or driving a school bus. He does all things with gusto and an unfailing sense of humor. He has the size and heart of a giant and has impacted our school in a big way. He is always willing to listen, he is easy to talk to, and he will help resolve an issue in any way he can. He has been devoted to RJHS for the last 15 years. His personality is one that always tries to find the best in a situation, and he is usually able to make a joke about it. He has positively influenced the students and staff at the jr. high. The students love the way he checks up on them and asks how life is treating them. He has a strong ability to navigate challenges, and if he doesn't have the answer,r he always tries to find it. He is a devoted father and grandpa and is always happy to show the newest grandbaby photo. It has been an honor to work with Kords, and I feel blessed to call him a friend."
