Mr. Whiting's class searched through some regurgitated owl pellets today to learn more about the owl and the ecosystems in which they live.

Walker breaks a 37-year-old 1600 record!
Carson Walker a 7th grader at Russellville Middle School helped lead his team to a decisive victory in the Booneville Bearcat Relays on Tuesday at Booneville High
School.
Both the RMS Track teams (girls & boys) won first place besting eight other
teams in Tuesday’s meet which was highlighted by Walker shattering the previous
mile run mark set by Former Russellville Basketball legend Marcus Thompson. Walker ran the mile in an official time of 5:01.25 topping the previous mark set
by Thompson of 5:06.7 set back in 1986.
“That record has been one we have been attempting to break for several years,” said Coach Joey Fisher. “I had messaged Marcus and told him it was about to fall and he was very encouraging and even sent Walker a congratulatory message.”
We are all so very proud of Carson and it was amazing to see all his teammates
rooting him on and cheering when he crossed the finish line. The Gales will be off for Spring break before traveling to Beebe for their next meet Monday, March 27th.

Attn Parents: ACT Aspire testing is approaching quickly. Make sure you mark your calendars from May 1st - May 5th!

7th grade Art Students in Mrs. Mross room are working away on their illustration projects where they are recreating illustrations made in popular children’s books, and taking careful notes to remember to use the adjectives used throughout the story.

As a way to showcase what students have read independently, students were asked to create a character map. This is one example of the awesome work students are doing at RMS!

Congratulations to the 6th-grade Quiz Bowl team on their 4th-place finish yesterday! They competed against teams from Conway, Vilonia, and Greenbrier at Arch Ford. They demonstrated excellence in both sportsmanship and character. They were impressive in their knowledge of topics ranging from biology to geography and literature to algebra, plus some pop culture too. The RMS team tied with the 3rd place team, Carl Stuart/Conway, at the end of round 4. They went into a 5-question tie-breaker! It was such a close game! They represented RMS so well!

Earlier today, members of the Wonder Boys baseball team and the Golden Suns softball team spent time reading to seventh-grade classes to help encourage reading as part of Read Across America Week!

Attn Parents: Any 6th-grade girls interested in cheer and dance, please complete the Tryout Packet at the front office! Please turn it in to the RMS office by Friday, March 17.

This week is Read Across America Week!
The goal of this week is to encourage reading and educate people about its benefits. Teachers are spending this week highlighting reading in their classrooms and showing their love of reading by participating in this week's dress-up days.

Students in Mrs. Green's class read and compared three different scientific texts on ecosystems. To make this a little more fun, she made her class into a real-life escape room! Students had to solve clues to retrieve the three different texts from around the room, but look out; the FLOOR IS LAVA!

6th grade science students learned about the Coriolis Effect. This effect explains why wind and water appear to not travel in straight lines due to the rotation of the Earth.
Students were then challenged to draw a straight line while Mr. Daily spun a paper around (acting like the Earth’s rotation). All students could not draw a straight line—demonstrating the Coriolis Effect.

Happy National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day Mr. Gibson and Mr. Davis! RMS is so grateful to have amazing bus drivers in our building to get our students where they need to go safely. We are #galePROUD
